Must Mobilize Social Infrastructure to overcome MERS

MERS is spreading rapidly and out of control. Money consumption is being held back in and out because of economic pressure. Korea's reputation is dropping as well.

But people are still pointing out that there Korea is not doing a good enough job at controlling this disease. Also, people started to have doubts on controlling the spread of the disease in local areas. If this continues, the community will be broken. Health and Medical Union proposed a public statement that now is not too late to mobilize full societal infrastructure to end this war against MERS.

메르스 사태 극복 위해 사회적 인프라 총동원해야

메르스가 걷잡을 수 없을 정도로 확산되고 있다. 소비심리가 급속히 위축되면서 내수소비도 빠르게 악화되고 있다. 대한민국 국격도 하염없이 추락 중이다.

하지만 당국의 대응에는 아직도 긴장감이 부족하다는 지적이 나온다. 지역감염 가능성에 대한 대처도 신뢰감을 심어주지 못하고 있다. 만약 이대로 지역사회 전파가 본격화되면 지역공동체는 붕괴될 위험이 크다.

보건의료노조는 지난 15일 발표한 성명서를 통해 기존 당국에게 "지금이라도 '메르스와의 전쟁'을 선포하고 사회적 인프라를 총동원하라"고 강하게 요청했다.
