Penalty Republic...Excessive Increase

Voices of criticism are emerging stating that the government is over-collecting from the citizens in order to fill the gap of tax revenue. Overall increase is being made including the cigarette price, year end tax adjustment, fine, and so on. 3.2 billion dollars of fine and penalty were collected last year which was 366.6 million dollars more than the expected amount. The Profits from the fine and penalty was 3.2 billion dollars which is 366.6 million dollars more than year 2013. The fine profits wee 949.1 million dollars which is 80 million dollars more than what was expected. Also, the local government's transportation fare is increasing continuously. 과태료 공화국...도 넘은 국민 삥듣기

세수 부족을 메우기 위한 대국민 삥뜯기가 도를 넘어서고 있다는 비판이 거세다. 정부가 담뱃세, 연말정산, 과태료 등 전방위적인 국민 삥듣기에 나서는 모양새다. 지난해 정부가 징수한 과태료 및 벌금 규모가 역대 최대치인 3조2000여억원이다. 이는 2013년보다 3666억원 증가한 금액이다. 과태료 수입은 9491억원으로 목표치보다 800억원이나 더 걷혔다. 여기에 지자체가 부과하는 교통요금도 계속 인상되고 있다. 18일 서울시는 지하철 200원, 버스요금 150원 인상안을 확정지었다.
